Winter
2010 Schedule
Canine University offers classes for all levels, abilities and
interests. All courses are taught using operant conditioning
through the use of a clicker and treats.
Beginners Classes are geared for the new dog in the
family and are perfect for both the novice owner as well as
those looking to establish an enduring relationship with a
new dog. Typically 6 weeks in length.
Beginner Obedience Modules are held each week on
Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings. You can join in
any week, and attend up to 8 sessions over the course of four
consecutive weeks. Solid, foundational training to get you
started on realizing the companion of your dreams (or at least
a dog you like to live with!) Orientation- attended without
your dog- is every Wednesday from 6:30-7:30 pm.
Why wait for the next Puppy K when you can start this week?!
And, if your dog has had some training & you are just
beginning your input into this dog's education, this is a
great place to start! We'll gladly help you track their grasp
of the subject matter, and provide lots of coaching and attention
to those special areas of concern! And as your dog's abilities
increase, this class format allows students to easily transition
into the Intermediate module/ better reliability without waiting
for a class to start!!
Intermediate and Advanced Classes build upon concepts
learned in our Beginners classes; we also offer courses for
polishing skills as well as learning new and fun activities
for you and your dog.
Intermediate Obedience Modules are held each week
on Wednesday evenings and on Saturday mornings. Wednesday
evenings we help you improve and expand upon a variety of
basic behaviors; on Saturdays we target specific skills- coming
when called, heeling on leash, etc.- over a four week period.
As in our Beginner Modules, you can join in any week, and
can attend both Wednesday and Saturday sessions over the course
of four consecutive weeks for no additional cost.
Specialty Courses Four weeks in length, these are
offered on Thursday evenings and have a specific agenda, whether
it be working with a reactive dog, teaching tricks or strengthening
your relationship thru training games. With Rowdy Rovers being
the exception, those who enroll can also attend the Wednesday
Intermediate Module.
